The East Greenbush Police Departments Honor Guard is composed of four sworn Police Officers of the East Greenbush Police Department.

Honor Guard members range in job tenure from six years to nineteen years of service in law enforcement.

This program is a community oriented function, which is a proven asset to any Police Department.

The members range in rank from Police Officer to School Resource Officer, with only one member with a military background and who currently serves with the U.S. Air Force / New York Air National Guard.

The Honor Guard members are expected to perform their regular duties within the Department; then come together, as needed, when their services as Honor Guard members are required. Aside from funeral details, the Honor Guard also posts Colors at Department or Town-sponsored events.

The Department strives to have Honor Guard members present at the funeral services for any Police Officer killed in the line-of-duty, retired East Greenbush Police Officers, dignitaries, and police memorial services throughout New York State.

Our goal is to project a positive, professional image during all Color Guard / Honor Guard functions. This also project's a positive image of our Department, and the community which for we serve.

Since its inception The Honor Guard has made sincere efforts to have at least some limited presence at local services, and to interact with the community.
