The Town Police Department is composed of 24 police officers and 7 support professionals, dedicated to serving and protecting residents and visitors around the clock. Dispatched by an award winning Town Communication Center, the department deploys a Patrol Force using a fleet of two and four wheel drive cruisers and special purpose vehicles. Detectives are assisted at crime scenes by forensic evidence technicians who photograph and collect evidence which greatly assists with investigations and the apprehension of criminal offenders. A School Resource Officer is deployed full-time to school buildings acting as a valuable resource to staff and students, as well teaching safety programs and crime scene prevention education. The Emergency Response Team trains regularly to provide proficient and tactical response to special law enforcement situations. These, along with other crime prevention, juvenile, and community policing programs, provide a variety of public safety experts to serve the needs of the town.
